In the Northeastern Bangladesh city of Sylhet, a group of women entrepreneurs have joined together to advocate for better access to loans for women. Through their efforts, more women are now finding the means to grow their own business and boost employment in their region. The Asia Foundation, in partnership with BICF, has provide technical assistance and training to women’s business forums in four districts of Bangladesh since 2008. Fanatstic work.. keep it up… :-) I think the UK B’deshi population which are largely from this area, could contribute to a fund that assists women and economically challenged individuals in sylhet. This could allow them to get a foothold in business and then excel in thier respective trades with the right backing… Its EASILY doable…. we’re talking about relatively small sums.. £200 loans etc..
