Adam Schran – Young Entrepreneurs Listen Up!

Posted by admin on June 24th, 2010 and filed under young entrepreneurs | 1 Comment »

http://www.retireat21.com – Adam Schran of http://finallyfast.com delivers some essential advice for entrepreneurs, young and old everywhere.

Adam Schran was speaking to Barry Dunlop in Necker Island — Sir Richard Branson’s private Island

Adam Schran says:
“Entrepreneurs get paid, in my opinion, to bust through and do the things that cause you discomfort. Everyone can do ten out of fifteen things that is easy and is in their comfort zone, but to do the difficult stuff, it’s annoying and it’s tough. Your brain will try to talk you out it and trick you out of it, but that’s what you get paid to do.

My advice to every one is to bulldog through it. Understand that every entrepreneur, with very few exceptions, gets hung up at certain steps along the way and you just have to push through as best you can.”

FinallyFast.com is a feature site of Ascentive LLC. Founded in 1998, Ascentive was the brainchild of Adam Schran and his brother Andrew. Armed with a degree in Computer Science, Adam’s dream to develop and market software came to life with the launch their first product, WebRocket. The rest is history. With a dozen products, Ascentive is a market leader in corporate and consumer software and has received accolades from media organizations like The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, Forbes, Tech TV and NBC.

Young entrepreneur: fashion boutique owner

Posted by admin on April 15th, 2010 and filed under young entrepreneurs | 1 Comment »

Kirsten has taken her love of fashion and opened her very own boutique at the age of 23, with customers visiting from around the world. The shop, Missy La La’s, is the only one of its kind in Dundee, reckons Kirsten. “And that’s very important. It’s very hard to build a business on just an idea. You need facts, you need to do thorough research.”

Running Missy La La’s, Kirsten has picked up a variety of skills, ranging from talking to established, older executives (”You need a get a backbone”) to keeping her retail space tidy (”I’d never bothered about cleaning before.”) Like many young entrepreneurs, Kirsten received help from both Business Link and The Prince’s Trust. “And my mum, I can always phone her.”
