Figure out how much this will cost you if you sell absolutely nothing.
Setting up an online business does not guarantee income, but you certainly wouldn’t know that if you talk to all the services that offer to set you up.
I routinely talk to people who have paid $5000 to set up a web business and have no income…and then want to know if they can deduct all the money on their taxes.

Mainly, the most important step it creating a good niche that is popular and something that you enjoy doing. Just like a regular job, if you don’t like it, do you continue to do it. Just this time you are putting money into it, so you are actually paying for it in the beginning.
Also what type of budget you are willing to use prior to setting it up. You will need to do research in the area that you are planning to do business in and see what the demand is for it. But if you don’t have the time to creating a website from scratch, there are also many programs out there to help you get starting at little or no money at all.
