D-Build and e2e Materials were both chosen for the inaugural Famous Entrepreneurs Series Start-Up Spotlight. We shared the stage that evening with Tom Kelley of IDEO, who spoke about his new book The Ten Faces of Innovation. Here is the official press release from the FES.
“FES announces the introduction of The FES Start-Up Spotlight to increase awareness, promote collaboration and tout success of entrepreneurial start-ups in our community. Through nominations from FES members and partners, start-up companies are chosen based on the criteria of being a true start-up or early-stage ventur…e; showing success to date; having relevancy to FES attendees; and complimenting the FES topic area of the evening. The two local companies chosen for the inaugural FES Start-Up Spotlight are D-Build (d-build.org), a company that deconstructs and documents reclaimed historic home materials to sell via their virtual marketplace, and e2e Materials (www.e2ematerials.com), a manufacturer of sustainable biocomposite materials which are produced using less than ½ the energy and cost of traditional wood composite products resulting in a lighter, most cost efficient end product.
