Jeff Hawkins recommends that atheists/freethinkers take on an entrepreneurial mindset if they plan to challenge a world dominated by religion.
Jeff Hawkins is the founder of Palm Computing and Handspring. He also founded the Redwood Center for Theoretical Neuroscience (formerly the Redwood Neuroscience Institute).

The atheist said: …
The atheist said: Religious people are weak and this was the response: Don’t freacken call me weak? The reason I am not going to put a bullet in your head is because I respect God. But I still can choose to put seven bullets in your head just to show you, you do not mess with God… Nay, No psychologist is going to convince me not to do what God tells me not to do.

“the bible is way ahead today’s science”
one question: what does the bible say about the dinosaurs? Do you think somebody amused himself sticking huge skeletons in the ground?

I like how after Hawkins says he’s convinced he understands fundamentally how the neocortex stores knowledge the camera cuts to a glaring Ramachandran.

man ive been trying …
man ive been trying to explain these things to athiest for months and months but the thing is that they don’t want to believe in God they like being athiest they don’t gotta obey no commandments and all that, but the scripture you quoted is very good example of how the bible is way ahead today’s science and the enemy is trying to make people believe these false scientific theories and all of that but no matter what they try to say always know God is real I’ve seen real miracles happen…

Circle =/= sphere
…
Circle =/= sphere
Example of a circle = draw around a plate
Example of a sphere = a football (european)
According to your Isaiah quote, the Earth was flat.

Sorry to break it …
Sorry to break it to you but that is a very loose interpretation of isaiah. That is definitely not a proof that christians knew the earth was a sphere. Nor that space expands.
If you want to put a spin on it, you should understand science _because_ your god created it.

if u guys dont …
if u guys dont understand what im saying… Isaiah 40:22 He sits enthroned above the “circle” of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in.
This also speaks of how the heavens “space” are being stretched out scientist are just figuring that one out today wow good job for proofin the bible right thumbs up to u advanced in science for i do not need to understand science when my father created it

Seems weird he’d be …
Seems weird he’d be phased by the bunch of retards in the audience. One wonders why anyone would bother attending atheist conferences to begin with. They tend to be full of socialists and environmentalists anyway, which is just the new religion.

Yeah, On Intelligence. I didn’t know what to expect, but it was one of the best books I have read in a long time (if you are into brain science and artificial intelligence).

Thanks for the suggestion! (I assume that you are referring to ‘On Intelligence’, right?) I’ll give it a try very soon.

when a “survivor” (and other kinds of sufferers) became a central carrier of wisdom and knowledges? have i missed anything? WTF?
what about studying, sciences, observation, experiments, getting knowledges… all sufferers are very predictable and described with science. if you are not agree then go get suffer and then tell people the truth about this world. lol.

The day we can …
The day we can study the formation of the earth and make a living doing it is the day we stop believing in genesis.
The day we can study science and knowledge and make a living doing it too is the day we can eliminate some of the beliefs and irrational notions we have presently.
Hmm. I don’t think it’s a mystery why people who work long hours doing the same thing all the time, why they often hold irrational views. Most of us don’t spend our time studying science… we’re busy making money.

Goliath was a bad guy. God didn’t drop him with a lightning bolt. He sent a little boy with a sling shot and a few stones. I love God’s sense of humor.
