I have checked a few sites like guru.com or rent-a-coder or freelancer… but where is the friendly silicon valley guys that love this stuff, lol. I know there are plenty people that help out google for nearly nothing because their passionate in participating. I need some of these guys that really could benefit. I am a starving entrepreneur but have a good sense in starting a website with features of leading social networking sites and some other media content sites. Serious help please!
I said serious inquiry, lol. It sounds like a joke, but with innovation from expertise in computer programming, graphic design, pyschology, business marketing, software interface design, databasing, and the power of generation x, y, & z….. this idea is extremely feasible. I have tested a few sites out already and my next move will be a nice start-up that will either compete or win, loosing is not an option, i’d just sell it, lol. So, I would prefer answers from other professionals, cool nerds, entrepreneurs, and others passionate about success. I’ve tried lottery and did pretty well with the algorithms, probability, and odds with the pick 3 numbers. Its up to 500 bucks, but I’m looking to use my skills to make thousands, if not millions.

Okay so we are holding this formal and very classy dinner at our university where we are inviting the Alumni who are successful entrepreneurs and we will be showcasing the STUDENTS who are entrepreneurs at the event at the same time. The purpose is to socialize and interact with the alumni and to showcase those students as well.

We live in Alabama, Tennessee, and Virginia. We will be developing and selling web services around the country/world. Without getting too complicated, can someone advise me of where we should register our business (or how to decide this) and whether we should be a partnership, S, C, or LLC formation? Thanks for any advise or help!

I owned 2 corporations and taught business at the local jr college. I tell my students that I have never seen an equal partnership that did not have problems. The only way to avoid major problems with partners is if EVERYTHING is written down in detail! I have seen many friendships dissolve. In biz, I always recommend protection from liability by incorporating. Good luck!

I originally decided upon majoring in Music Technology at Wayne State University but now I’m wondering if that is the correct major for me. I want to be a producer, eventually start a recording label, and even own my own fashion label. Which brings me to think about whether I should pursue Fashion… It’s not so much the designing I’m concerned with whereas just owning my own label. I want to be an entrepreneur in whatever field I choose.

I would suggest looking into going to a school in a major city that has many record labels. Look into perhaps a business degree and trying to get an internship with a record label or fashion designer. This will give you insight into the industry. I also think you may not be looking into the right major for you. I would try a Merchandising major, whether in fashion or music. Check out these schools which offer such programs and are located in major hubs of both the fashion and music industries (either NYC or LA).

The most lucrative business is one that fills a certain niche in the market that has been underserved. Start out by searching yourself for guidance, build on any experiences that you have and decide what kind of work that you can enjoy doing. If your good at what you do and feel that you can make a living from doing it, then by all means do it. I think the simplest kinds of businesses to start off are B2B businesses that provide specialized services to a broad industry.

I’m basically getting ready to jump into a job with a trait because i’ve had a real run of bad luck with money to stay in school.

But me and a buddy want to open an entertainment place just outside Chicago. A paintball, laser tag entertainment place. Perfect location, to as all roads to it lead to and from the city, and just about every suburb in the area, wealthy and otherwise.

but you need money to make money. we want to look into property investors. We’re smart, hard workers, but without any real education what are the chances of us jumping into entrepreneunership, and convincing investors we’d be, well, a good investment? or is our lack of schooling gonna kick us while we’re down?
