Im a teen in high school and its almost time for me to decide about colleges. Im a talkative, creative, outgoing person that loves networking with people. So I figured that I would go into a communication major. I want to be a Public Relations Specialist or Entrepreneur. I don’t know, what do you suggest for a good school and/or a good major?

Penn State is overall a better school than FSU

Can entrepreneurs really make a business plan if they have lots of different ideas

Posted by admin on February 28th, 2010 and filed under business entrepreneurs | 2 Comments »

If you ask for help from business advisers sponsored by the government they want you to make a business plan. But if you are writing a book, selling for a company part time and making internet sites..as well as having an eye for property can a business plan fit this?

Typically you will be more successful if you are focused on one idea at a time. However perhaps you are different and not typical.

Then consider your different ideas (unrelated as they are) as separate services or products in your plan (however do not include the jobs you have where other employers pay you in your business plan).

Focus on the business ideas such as developing internet sites; property investment and management; book writing and self-publishing as parts of your overall plan: each part will have to have a strategy, a marketing plan, etc.

Good luck.

Renaissance Men/Women and Entrepreneurs, I need advice/suggestions…?

Posted by admin on February 28th, 2010 and filed under women entrepreneurs | 2 Comments »

I’ve been trying to get a foot hold in my area but keep coming short on my entrepreneurial endeavors. Any suggestions on low start up business ideas? Or how did you get started? (It may spark my own imagination.)
I know you only get what you put in but like I said I’m trying to get a foot on the ladder before I start climbing.

I’m skeptical of anyone who wants to be an entrepreneur/own their own business only because they think this is an easy way to make money. It is not. Owning your own business is a lot of hard work and not always rewarding.

I know that you did not specifically say this, but I am reading between the lines. What are you good at? What are your skills? Education? Experience? Is there a need for a specific product in your area that is not being met? Answering these questions would give you a better idea of where to begin then knowing what is easy, cheap, or worked for someone else.

Where can I get info on young entrepreneurs who need capital and encouragement to fulfil their dreams.?

In the US hit www.score.org for some advice. It is a practical site in partnership with the Small Business Administration. This is where you go to make a dream a reality not to bounce crazy ideas off other entreprenuers or hit anyone up for cash. This is real world stuff. Success in business is more sweat than imagination at the end of the race.

Best of luck to you.
