I am an aspiring young entrepreneur looking for enterpreneur’s forum in Kansas City, Kansas or Missouri. This may be a small to a large group of people interested in anything from Networking and Cross-Marketing to sharing innovative ideas, and sharing pieces of advice based on experiences.

Have you checked out LinkedIn.com? Its a great professional networking site, and there are "Groups" you can join to meet/network with people with specific interests. I noticed that there was one group titled "Kansas City Entrepreneur Network" which you may want to check out.

What is the impact of moral entrepreneurs on your perception of family?

Posted by admin on January 29th, 2010 and filed under entrepreneurs | 3 Comments »

Moral entrepreneurs do what it takes to bring morality to places where it hasn’t been before, embrace new responsibilities, making them their own, and persuade their peers to do likewise, expand conscience, the fundamental prerequisite for concern, commitment, and action. The mission of the moral entrepreneur is not to create a new tax-exempt organization. It is to inspire others to engage deeply in community causes and to do so in a way that leverages their unique strengths.

Let me assure you that a moral entrepreneur starts out with the best of intentions. This mode of operation creates a desire for customers to be near the family and even befriend them. But in business, the leopard will sometimes change its spots. This means the moral entrepreneur status was merely window dressing. Most sociologists believe this will encompass about 82% of the entrepreneurs, showing being moral was an illusion.

How can the next president better help small business and entrepreneurs thrive?

Posted by admin on January 29th, 2010 and filed under business entrepreneurs | 4 Comments »

I think that the next President should concentrate on rebuilding and improving road, bridges and sewer infrastructure and Intermodal transportation. These two sectors will engage small business for years. Their is near unanimity among Economist that infrastructure improvements provides opportunity on the local level, close to neighborhoods, villages and communities to enhance small businesses. Currently, the Federal Government has placed an unfunded mandate on cities to improve infrastructure on the City dime within 20 years. This is not feasible, it would take more like 40 years. Local Governments are stressed to maintain their credit worthiness, and have a bond sale to fund these projects alongside, capital and operational budgets. Small business can identify local incentives in their own community and the related spin off if the Federal government would fund the mandates.

Intermodal transportation can be expanded. This would be shipping, air flight, trucking and wireless retail business at a particular location. Centuries ago, Egypt was built to be a propserous nation due to it’s location of the Nille River. The railroad tracks in Califorinia made the gold rush in San Francisco a phenomena that built many cities in the State of California. If we have the political will for Intermodal transportation and make it high tech, and tie it into physical transport and logistics to make cities more efficient in export and importation this too will benefit the local economy, particularly small business. It promotes trade and those in trades get a piece of the pie.

In the mid 80s a middle weight fight was to be fought outside in California. The day of the fight it was a downpour, but a record crowd attended the fight and Hollywood moguls and stars attended to see the fight. A few smart kids purchased trash bags and stood at the entrance and sold the trash bags at $5.00 per bag. Here is an example of small business being able to position itself alongside big business. Those kids and families would say that the local economy benefitted from that small business. Simple is key. Keep it simple, link it to High Tech, Logistics and Transportation, rebuild City Infrastructure and the spin off will benefit small business. This is the model that China is utilizing. It is their small businesses that make them formidible. China does not have large Corporate structures, they have big invasive Government.

Hey i wanted to know what classes do i have to be a architect entrepreneur. I wanted to know what to do to open my own Firm. any info?

Marketing, contract writing and management (human resources) are good classes to take. But in the programs I’ve attended, those were not on the list of electives. You will do most of your learning on the job, so you need to put yourself in position to challenge the top tiered managers in the office.

I am a 25 year old minority woman trying to open my own business. Are there any grants or government funding,other than loans, to help start up?

Contrary to what you see on late-night television, there are no grants for individuals.

The Grants that are available are, for Rural Community Development, not for personal use.

If you want to open your own business, you’re on your own.

Is there a list of successful entrepreneurs that have recently started a new business?

Posted by admin on January 29th, 2010 and filed under successful entrepreneurs | 1 Comment »

A new busines that has been successful

Here are some very successful small business enterprises to consider:

1. Providing a private tutoring service ranging from music lessons, English writing and reading lessons: to training seniors on how to operate a particular computer;

2. Offering to supervise or monitor services to senior citizens especially those wanting someone to take them on errands, driving on long trips, watch and clean up homes left behind by seniors who have been relocated to assisted living quarters;

3. Becoming a regional apartment manager servicing several properties while traveling to and fro to collect monthly rents and service tenant complaints;

4. Leasing a van equipped with paper shredding machinery and go into high-income areas offering to shred their highly secretive personal papers or even allow them to do so in the privacy of their own home or office;

5. Leasing high-pressure steam cleaning equipment which can be used to remove chewing gum in front of store fronts and apartment houses and charge an appropriate hourly fee;

6. Acquiring a personal fiduciary bond up to $100,000 [actually 10% or $10,000] which will allow you to sell your services as a personal property document specialist which involves photographing and cataloging all kinds of personal property which are subject to insurance coverage; salvaging of family photo albums, etc.

Good luck!
